This is the way to go play great shape great and hold there shape
Great tips, been putting on tips for years and I find these tips are of top quality and Bill is a great guy to do business with.
Ive installed around 2 dozen if these tips! Players seem to like them, no returns yet. Personally, I believe it has nice feel and responsive control of the cue ball
Bill's Billiards provided me with a free Endurance - Medium tip to try out.
I've been playing well lately, winning 8/8 BCA League games last night on Diamond 7-foot tables. I use a decent amount of English on the cue ball, but try to keep that in check, especially on long shots (9-foot tables). My usual playing tip over the last 1/2 year has been the Tiger Everest (Medium).
The Endurance tip seems to be very high quality and was easy to shape on my lathe, with the typical utility knife blade held horizontal on a tip shape gauge.
I was out playing this evening on a 9-foot Diamond Pro-Am table and played the first 2-3 hours with the Endurance tip. The tip is rated as a medium but played very lively; more like a soft. I found that I was getting too much action on the cue ball and it was throwing my game off considerably.
I tried adjusting to minimize the amount of English induced throw but still struggled considerably. I didn't break with the tip, but hit some balls quite hard, and did not observe any mushrooming of the tip.
Those that have played at medium to high-level may relate to looking at a shot and just knowing how to hit the ball. It's the flow state where your subconscious mind takes over to an extent and you don't overthink the shots. So, if you've having to constantly adjust or keep in mind that a tip is too lively for your liking, then your game is going to fall apart. At least that's what I experienced.
Sure, if I played with this tip for a month or so, I'd adjust to it. But I'm just not interested in making such changes to all my cues. This is like when a player transitions from maple shafts to carbon fiber, where they get too much CB action and tend to miss far too many shots. Folks say you'll adjust in a year or so... sorry; not interested.
For those who don't have a considerable number of cues/shafts and want a very lively tip, then this is the one for you!
great tip. cuts great plays great. thanks for sending it. letting people play with it to see what others think.
